Carnegie Mellon's Healthy Campus 2010 Task Force wants the university to shape up. Healthful eating, physical fitness, reduced alcohol use—these are just a few of the areas the task force is tackling. They're making headway already. A new smoking policy is being phased in this year that will make campus smoke free, except in designated outdoor areas. If that weren't enough to make smokers think twice about lighting up, Carnegie Mellon has also launched a free smoking-cessation program for students, faculty, and staff interesting in kicking the habit.
