If you ever wondered where the hardware that adorns many teenage smiles comes from, ask Matthew Bulger (S'84). He is CEO of Metal Injection Molding (MIM) at NetShape Technologies, manufacturer of metal components formed by firing metal powder mixed with plastic. MIM reduces the cost of corrosion-resistant parts for use in hostile environments, such as orthodontic braces in human mouths. Bulger was recently elected president of the Metal Powders Industry Federation, the world's largest metal powder industry association.
