Kiron Skinner understands the nuances of national security. The Social and Decision Sciences professor has served on Department of Defense advisory boards and worked closely with Condoleezza Rice. Through the Center for International Relations and Politics, she has also brought high-profile speakers to Carnegie Mellon, such as the CIA director and the former president of the World Bank. Skinner plans to continue having that kind of impact in her new university role: national security policy advisor.
