Captain Geoff Dobson, a U.S. Air Force reservist, has recently had two stints in Southwest Asia. He has also been working toward his master’s degree in Information Systems at CMU’s Heinz College, which he will earn this year. One of the reasons he says he chose CMU for his studies is because it sports a “Yellow Ribbon,” which means he isn’t held responsible for tuition costs that go above those covered by the GI Bill. It’s no surprise to him that CMU was ranked among the top 15% of American military-friendly schools for 2013 by GI Jobs magazine, which surveyed more than 12,000 institutions.—Elizabeth Shestak (DC’03)
