Scene design: Patrick Rizzotti (A’12) puts the final touches on an industrial-looking metal staircase and balcony. The design is modular, able to be effortlessly shifted by actors on stage.
Lighting design: soft violet light rays illuminate a couple, hand in hand, center stage. Dan Efros (A’13) smiles. It looks beautiful.
Stage management: AJ Cook (A’14) is backstage on a headset with the dressing room, alerting the lead actress that she has 20 seconds to get into her corset, while he simultaneously corrects a mix-up with a missing prop for Act II.
Three different productions and three young men whose positions help make the shows go on.
These three CMUers, in their field of expertise, have won the United States Institute for Theatre Technology’s 2014 Young Designers & Technicians Award.
